Dividing Lines

Its December. The only month when Chennai can be at its best of the places to live. And there are certain sampled regular moments that are pleasant this month like..

  • "The pleasant weather and the morning chillness makes it easy for a mediocre IQ girl to stand for her office bus early in the morning. She makes 35 K Rs per month.
  • Be it sitting in your bike wasting  60 Rs per gallon of fuel starring at the signal lights to turn green.
  • Squishing among the crowd of people in the prevailing market places to buy a saree worth 5k on a average non festive weekend
  • A mid day bus ride with your Girl Friend in the Deluxe Govt Bus cruising along the dusty road paying 100 Rs for the ride
  • Getting on to a bar and drink some local quality scotch with chicken tandoori and spending 1K Rs per visit.
  • 10 Rs cigar Smoke with a hot cup of tea of 5 Rs."

Pleasant chilling weather everywhere and festivities. The only season where the household Air Conditioning machine gets a time off.

Chitra looked worried and looking at the cure little one she muttered,
"She will not survive the cold tonite if you don't do anything to the fallen wall"
"Seri.Let me check if we can sleep tonite in the school" assured Muthu one father among the million struggling to survive in the new tech evolved planet.

Muthu needs at least 250 Rs to buy a used asbestos sheet to cover the fallen side of his house and that would prevent the chill air getting on to his little 3 months old.

He roamed across the city to find any from the garabage but the search was in vain.
That night they spent in a nearby school building.
And the school guard said "You can spend a night or two not more than that"

It was getting colder day by day.He sat there under a tree and seemed lost.
The school guard walked briskly towards Muthu and cried at him with excitation "There is advertising board near old bridge that had fallen down.If you go now you can get that and mend your house"

Muthu with much of agitation ran towards old bridge and to his luck the 10 x 6 ft thick board banner was rattling in the cold breeze. He called few kids playing around there and took it to patch his little home

And he stood there looking at it  -  a proud Father.
and  saw the smile from Chitra - a motherly gratified one.

That night the poor little family slept happily with the banner board protecting them from the Chennai mist.

From outside the Banner read
"Safe Home for everyone" - a promise from AJB Govt

honey Moon (Repost)

"Nimmi come here di.Come near me seekaram".
He showed her the marvel he was seeing.Nirmala who was preparing coffee rushed and stood near dina.
"Did u see that" he said and showed her the Moon.

"Thats amazing da wow" she slowly leaned over Dina and looked at it.
White and milky it was. They felt cold looking at it.

She turned and gave a tight hug to dina and eventually he kissed her forehead.
Tears started rolling out of her eyes.

"i know abt u dear..u will keep up your promise" said Nirmala and kissed him deeply. As their shuttle approched it.

He felt proud.

Dina remembered a few years back "Nimmi.I promise u da." pointing to the moon over the sky "For sure i shall take you there for our honey moon sweetheart".

And he registered their names with VMCI (Visit Moon Corporation of India) and got the best deal "Exclusive for couples" of 4 nights stay plus a new space shuttle which hardly had travelled 150 times between moon and earth, with all the elemental features for 33 trillion Rs.

He did'nt yet disclose to Nirmala that he had got a free ride coupon on the "old highlands".

Their space craft was about to land on the moon surface in another 8 hrs. They peeped through the their ship's covered deck and saw the surface smooth and  covered with a material called as  regolith, a mixture of fine dust and rocky debris produced by meteor impacts.

It landed.

The couple came out and a crew with four men were waiting to pick them up to their suite.

"Welcome sir, and mam.You are on the moon. You are 43215633 th couple to visit the moon. The weather is excellent this weekend. And we hope you will enjoy your stay here for the next 5 days."

Nirmala cant believe that she is walking on the moon with his beloved.
With no atmosphere and no magnetic field, the Moon's surface looked providential for her.

She held his hand tight when they looked above the sky to see the EARTH at an orbit 384,400 km away.
